Privacy Policy
How Football Tactics Board handles your tactical diagrams, local browser storage, and technical data — short version: your board never leaves your browser.
Last updated: 2026-10-01
What this policy covers
This policy explains what happens to information when you use Football Tactics Board — the free online football tactics board, its related tool pages (tactical board, football board, soccer editor, soccer board, soccer whiteboard and the football tactics guide), and the supporting pages of this website. The short version: your tactical work is stored in your own browser and never uploaded by the tool itself.
Your tactical diagrams
Everything you draw — formations, player positions, team names and colours, arrows, lines, zones, text labels and freehand strokes — is processed and stored locally in your browser using localStorage. This happens on your device. The board does not send your diagrams to any server, does not sync them to an account, and does not publish them anywhere.
When you export a PNG or SVG file, the image is generated entirely in your browser and downloaded directly to your device. No copy is retained by the site.
You stay in control: the Reset board action clears your saved board, and using a private browsing window keeps one-off sketches from being stored at all. Clearing your browser data for this site removes everything the tool has saved.
Technical data
Like most websites, the hosting layer may automatically log standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring page and timestamps. These logs serve security and abuse prevention, and are processed on the basis of legitimate interest.
If the site operator enables an analytics provider, anonymized or pseudonymized usage events (for example, that a formation was selected or a diagram exported — never the content of your board) may be collected to understand which tools are useful. Analytics can be blocked with any standard content blocker or browser privacy setting without affecting the tools.
If an advertising provider is enabled, it may set cookies or similar identifiers subject to its own policy, which you can manage via your browser or the provider's opt-out.
Accounts
The public tools require no account, and Football Tactics Board does not offer user registration for them. If the operator later enables optional account features (such as the administrative area referenced by this template), any account data would be governed by an updated version of this policy. Today, the tactical tools work fully without sign-up.
Children and youth teams
The tool is designed for coaches, educators and players, including youth academies. Because no personal data is collected by the tactical tools themselves, no personal data of young players is processed by them. Adults should still apply their club's safeguarding rules when sharing diagrams that name individual players.
Cookies and local storage
The tool uses localStorage for exactly one purpose: remembering your current board so it reloads on your next visit. LocalStorage entries are not cookies, are not shared with third parties, and can be removed at any time by clearing site data in your browser.
Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (for example the GDPR in the EU or applicable state laws in the US), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict processing of personal data. Since the tools store everything locally, most requests are satisfied by clearing your browser's site data. For any residual server-side technical logs, contact the site operator through the channel published on this site.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new revision date. Because the tools are local-first, changes will not affect diagrams already saved in your browser.
Contact
Questions about this policy or the site's data practices can be sent to the contact address published by the site operator. Please note that the tactical tools themselves have no server-side component that could answer data requests about your diagrams — they are, and remain, yours alone in your browser.
