How to use the soccer board

The soccer board opens ready to play: two soccer teams on a full field, formations set, tools on the toolbar. Four steps take you from blank pitch to shared diagram.

  1. Choose each team's formation

Pick a soccer formation for Home and Away — 4-3-3 against 4-4-2 by default — and eleven players per side take their positions on the field. This soccer board is completely free.

  2. Position the soccer players

Drag any player or the ball wherever the moment needs. Shirt numbers can be edited and short role labels added for clarity. The soccer board opens with both teams ready.

  3. Draw the plays

Arrows for runs, lines for passes, boxes for zones and text for calls — solid or dashed, exactly like a coaching board should work. No account is needed on the soccer board.

  4. Export the soccer diagram

Download the finished board as a high-resolution PNG or an SVG vector, clean of any interface, ready for the team chat. The soccer board saves your work automatically.

A soccer board that speaks soccer

Soccer coaches talk about the field, formations and lineups — so does this soccer board. Every label, from the toolbar to the team cards, uses the soccer vocabulary your players hear at practice, and the field itself is drawn to true proportions: halfway line, centre circle, penalty areas, penalty arcs and corner arcs, ready for anything from kick-off shape to a last-minute corner. Formations snap into place on the soccer board.

Both soccer teams are on the board from the start, because most soccer questions are matchups: your front three against their back four, your midfield against their diamond, your back line against a target striker. Set both formations, drag the matchup into focus and the picture answers the question. Team names and kit colours are editable, so the board always shows the real fixture. Set pieces export from the soccer board as PNG.

The soccer board is also a practical set-piece tool. Stage a corner with attackers, defenders and the keeper; mark the delivery with a line, the screens with arrows and the danger area with a zone; add a Near post label and export. The same two-minute routine covers free kicks and throw-ins — the situations that decide tight soccer games.

Getting more from the soccer board

Formation study is the classic soccer board exercise: set 4-3-3 against 4-4-2 and drag the away striker onto your deepest midfielder — suddenly the need for a dropping six is visible. Move pieces and ask questions; the board exists to make positional consequences obvious before they cost goals.

The soccer board also plays well with its neighbours. Sketch an idea here in seconds; when it deserves careful editing — restyled arrows, resized labels, extra players — take it to the soccer editor. When you want to see finished examples first, the football tactics guide shows formations, pressing shapes and set pieces as interactive diagrams that open on the board in one click.

Whatever you draw, the export stays consistent: the same field, the same colours, the same clean look across every diagram your players see — from the Tuesday session plan to the cup final team talk. That consistency is a quiet advantage of one shared engine behind every tool on this site.
